Who we are
Our website address is: https://sfs-it.be.
Collection and Use of Personal Data
Comments
Currently, the functionality for users to leave comments on our site is not enabled. If in the future visitors are permitted to leave comments, we will collect data provided in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist in spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
Since users cannot upload images or other media content to this website, no media-related data collection currently applies. If this functionality is introduced, users should ensure that any uploaded images do not include embedded location data (EXIF GPS) as other visitors may be able to download and extract this data.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on our site may occasionally include embedded content (such as videos or images from other websites). This embedded content functions as if the visitor had directly visited the source website. Such external websites may collect personal data, use cookies, and incorporate third-party tracking. Please refer to the respective privacy policies of these third-party sites for detailed information on their data handling practices.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Data Sharing
In instances where a user requests a password reset, the IP address associated with that request will be included in the reset email to help with user verification and security.
Data Retention
If commenting functionality is activated in the future, any comments and associated metadata will be stored indefinitely to allow for automatic recognition and approval of any follow-up comments without requiring moderation. Currently, as no user accounts or comments are supported, no personal data is retained for these purposes.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Your Rights Regarding Your Personal Data
As a visitor to our website, you have certain rights regarding any personal data we may hold about you. These rights include:
- Access and Data Portability: You have the right to request access to your data in a machine-readable format.
- Data Rectification and Deletion: You may request corrections to or deletion of personal data, subject to any retention requirements under Belgian or EU law for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at gdpr@sfs-it.be.
Automated Decision-Making and Profiling
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Where Your Data Is Sent
If commenting functionality is enabled in the future, comments may be reviewed through an automated spam detection service to prevent spam and abuse.
